WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN REGULAR
AND ORGANIC MATTRESSES?

Every day we here about new threats to our health. It becomes almost overwhelming to think what is causing the new outbreaks of disease in adults and children. Unfortunately we do not know what the cause of many of today's health problems are, however when we know things can cause problems we should take action to change them for the better. This is especially true when you have something that may be releasing toxins into our bodies for 6 to eight hours every night. It is not only something we use every day, it is something we are very close to for a long period every night.

Many of the mattresses we are putting our bodies on every night may be releasing toxins every hour that we sleep on them. We are also letting out children sleep on these mattresses at a time in their life when breathing toxins is harmful to their development. Instead of the vinyl and other toxic mattress materials that we are subjecting ourselves to, we should look at the alternatives for bedding that are available.

Most of the mattresses that we are using have fire retardants in them that are toxic. The law requires mattresses to pass a torch test to make sure it will not burn. These types of fire retardants break down and can get into our blood stream and lungs. Organic mattresses use a natural type of fire retardant that is not harmful to us. When you sleep you are putting your whole body next to your mattress so making sure you are not breathing in toxic materials is quite important.

Organic mattresses are made of materials that are not harmful to our bodies. Mattresses made of cotton, wool and other organic materials are better for us. When we sleep our bodies recuperate and rest, we need to make this time to heal, and making sure that we are not breathing toxic materials is important.

These mattresses are well made and comfortable and are only getting better as manufacturing methods improve. There are many styles to choose from and you will be able to find the perfect mattress for your needs. A mattress is an investment, making sure we purchase an item that is comfortable as well as healthy should be top priority.

When you are looking for an organic mattress, look for styles that are built organic from top to bottom. You will be able to find mattress pads, sheets and pillows that are also organic. Having an organic bed to sleep on can help you to rest easy, knowing that you are doing the best thing for yourself and your family.

There are many toxins in this world, and it is hard to prevent contact with all of them, but you can control the environment you spend thirty percent of your time in by making sound health decisions. Your children spend even more time in this environment, make sure it is a healthy one.
