NEW CD PROMOTES
THE POWER OF THE SUN

There is a brand new music CD available to help raise funds for the solar energy movement—and the music is HOT! S.T.A.R.S. (Solar Technology and Rock Songs) features 19 sun-themed songs that span the spectrum of rock music from folk rock to alternative metal. S.T.A.R.S. was created to promote the cause of solar and renewable energy, eco-education and environmental awareness.

"Earth Day 2000 has challenged citizens to consider sustainability and renewable energy," says Laura Turner-Lynch, co-producer of the S.T.A.R.S. project. "This past year saw a large increase in oil and natural gas prices, which hopefully will be a wake up call for people to demand cleaner, renewable energy alternatives. Currently the state of California is facing an energy crisis in which the electrical needs of its residents can not be met. Now is the time to explore, promote and implement renewal energy especially solar technology."

The CD, the first of a series of environmental music projects produced by Light and Water Productions LLC., showcases many rising stars in the indie, pop and rock music world. Musicians from around the globe have contributed their songs to this important cause. Among them are Antara & Delilah (Out of the Blue), Jefferson Denim (Balsam Tree), John Taglieri (Can't Stop the Rain), Lady J (Daybreak), Ray Winch (Sun is Shining) and Simon Stinger (Summertime). The diversified mix of songs on the S.T.A.R.S. CD is a great addition to any music collection.

"We were inspired by the No Nukes concerts and album," Lynch continued. "We were motivated by Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty who previously promoted the solar energy cause. We believe that music is one of many resources that can generate interest and demand for solar/renewable energy."

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will be donated to various organizations who advance the ideas of renewable energy and sustainable development. Music fans who would like to help solar energy become a more viable energy alternative can now purchase the CD on line at Amazon.com or from several other retail-music and environmental outlets.
