Modular construction of the Solar Car Corporation electric system allows for easy maintenance and serviceability. The inherent strength of the chassis easily accomodates the added battery weight and maximizes safety. There are no batteries in the passenger compartment.
The drive system utilizes the powerful nine inch Advanced D.C. motor coupled to a custom Modular Speed Controller Package. A 120 volt D.C. system ensures power, speed and range. The truck features the newest GNB sealed, low maintenance Lead-Acid batteries which represent enhanced performance in terms of range and lifetime.
The Motor Control Module is a complete, fully intergrated component! This unique package includes all the basic components necessary to regulate power to the electric motor. Our Motor Control Module design features dielectric isolation, high efficiency, low power consumption in standby mode and quiet operation.
Solar Car Corporation's electric vehicles are certified by the California Air Resources Board as qualifying under zero emission standards. They also qualify for Federal tax credits based on 10% of the value of the zero emission vehicle, up to $4000 in credits per vehicle.
