Fast waters’ helping hand
This summer’s falling rain
Marching flow, silt and sludge
All over sodden plain
Who can reason with the flood?
While filling bags of sand
No more water from the main!
Drinks from tap be banned
Cars and trailers caught while stood
‘Cause debris blocked the drain
Incessant rain falls steadily
Distance keep and gain
Shifts in seasons, climate change
Green and pleasant fear
Hold the panic, hold the strain
Hope against in vain
