Gulf Breeze

Southern swamps absorb my blood through whiny thick mosquito cloud birds flit about in humid skies, tasty meals of dragonflies a breeze relief from hoards of bugs sunshine chases vamps away, troubles for another day time to enjoy the late summer weather times had here could be no better dive into the Gulf to ease the itch salt water cures from heat and bites flipping dolphins and island lights, sun goes down and water turns black still warm no fear of shark attack river estuary brings fresh currents shallow beach I feel secure my friends the dolphins say goodbye a songbird sings a lullaby bats flicker through starry sky supersonic waves of sound bounce back from the trees and ground off that bug back to the bat it now flaps over to attack If we could make a deal somehow, fly round my head and grab some grub these biting flies no friend of mine invitation for you to dine,
snatch these insects from my ear I trust the sounds you can hear magic bat so skilled a flyer all night long for sonic song
