HOW TO CHOOSE
A GREEN CLEANER

what is a Green cleaner?

In my opinion a “Green” cleaner should have NO Toxins what so ever in them. It should be made using only safe natural ingredients that will not harm human’s animals and the earth when used.

Why choose a Green cleaner?

A true Green cleaner is a safer and healthier choice. A truly "green" cleaner will help reduce the symptoms associated with many health conditions, such as asthma, bronchitis, allergies and sensitive skin, among others. Petroleum based products primarily thin out dirt, greases and grimes on surfaces as opposed to actually cleaning them. They can be potentially dangerous to use and always leave an oily residue behind. A Real Green cleaner leaves no oil residue and because of that, cleaning time should be reduced.

How do we choose the right one?

It’s not easy because many products found on retail shelves pose to be green or greener but still contain ingredients that are damaging to our health and planet. It takes a lot of research to find out what products are truly “green” and which ones only claiming to be.

What’s the first step?

Pick the one that appears to be the greenest. Read the information on the back label and look for warning signs. If you don’t understand the chemical names of the ingredients write them down and research them on the internet. Visit the manufacturer’s web site and see if they post the cleaner’s Material Safety Data Sheet. The MSDS is a document that is required by law to list each product chemical ingredients along with any hazards associated with them. If the MSDS is not posted on their web site you can write or email them to request a copy. If you don’t have internet access ask a friend to help out. Your family’s health depends on it.

Does a Third Party Logo validate a product's claim of being green? Not necessarily. A third party endorsement on a product label may simply mean the manufacturer paid a fee to have the recognized endorsement on it. This doesn’t guarantee the product is safe. I’ve found products with Logo’s on them which initially I thought were safe but after thorough research they were not safe in fact, very toxic.

Should you research the third party? Yes, always visit their web site to see what other products are endorsed by them. Most often you’ll be quite surprised.

Is it possible to find a Green product with NO Toxins? Yes! Look for products that were developed using the science of Colloidal chemistry. Colloidal chemistry can produce very powerful natural cleaning products by heating and cooling their ingredients at different temperatures. In doing so the ingredients become billions of what’s referred to as charged particles. These tiny particles can emulsify oil grease & grime making them safe to go down the drain. The science is used in a variety of industries. Many list their ingredients with words you can understand.
