DRINK YOUR WAY TO BETTER HEALTH

Imagine finding a solution to many of today's health problems that is as simple and inexpensive as filling a glass with tap water. But wait, filling a glass with tap water can be the solution. It sounds too good to be true, but we all know that drinking more water can lead to increased mental and physical functioning. Drinking more water can decrease your risk of some types of cancer, flush out wastes and bacteria that cause illnesses, alleviate and prevent headaches, and increase energy levels, to name only a few of the benefits of water intake. Drinking more water can even help dieters by regulating appetite. People often mistake thirst as cravings for food.

This simple solution to today's health problems is far from exclusive knowledge. The benefits of increased water intake have received so much coverage in health articles and magazines lately that the solution is now common knowledge. Yet, the majority of people still fail to meet even the minimum daily requirement of water intake, at about 64 ounces a day, depending on weight. For many people, this failure could be due to disbelief in the healing power of water or sheer laziness. Other people may feel that the cost of a water health regimen is just too high. After all, tap water contains several chemicals that most people don't want to take into their bodies, and the price of bottled water can be just too expensive to fit many budgets.

The solution to most of these problems can be as simple as turning on your tap and filling a glass full of pure, great-tasting water. (For those who don't believe water can be a solution to health problems, hopefully this article will convince them to try it.) Health professionals are now recommending water filters as the premier source of high-quality, healthy drinking water. Not only do water filters solve the problem of the costliness of buying bottles and bottles of water at the store, they also provide a quality of water that is much purer and cleaner than bottled water. Bottled water does not have the same rigid standards for water quality as tap water does, and a majority of bottled water contains more chemicals and contaminants than tap water! By attaching a pure water filter to your sink, though, pure and healthy water is guaranteed. Water filters sift out harmful chemicals that can lead to bad-tasting, unhealthy water and leave you with clean, great-tasting water as pure as from a natural spring.

Not all water filters are the same, though. Most water filter companies meet only the minimum required standard for trace element levels of harmful chemicals and other mineral residues in the water. Also, the initial and replacement costs of the filtration products are often just too high for most budgets. It's important for any cost-conscious shopper to carefully research the various water filter companies and find the one that best suits his or her needs.

Water can be a powerful ally in our fight against disease and other health problems. Indeed, we all know the benefits of water, and now we can truly attain those benefits at the convenience and economy of simply filling a glass with pure, great-tasting, tap water.
