One of the biggest concerns of wood glasses is reducing waste. The less we use and the more we reuse, the healthier our planet can become. This is achieved through our unique eco-packaging program. Our packages are constructed using 50% recycled paper and are printed using soy ink. Our construction institutes a triangular shape to minimize the amount of paper used while maximizing the strength due to the special shape of the box. The use of soy ink is less damaging to paper fibers which allows for easier recycling of our packaging. The eco-packaging on each pair of wood glasses sunglasses is just one of the steps we are taking to reduce waste.
To augment the eco-packaging program, wood glasses offers a revolutionary recycling program. Wood glasses truly believes in recycling as much material as possible. If you think it is time to retire your wood glasses product or even if you want to change up styles, guess what? You can send us your wood glasses product and they will recycle them for you and in exchange for the eco-friendly gesture. If the product we receive is still useable, we will donate it to a person in need; but if they are not, we will break it down and recycle as much of the product as possible. Happy you. Happy us. Reducing waste was a strong first step in creating a healthier relationship between humankind and nature; however, it wasn’t enough for wood glasses. We wanted to do something to give back to our planet Earth. At wood glasses, we recognize that although wood is a renewable resource, commercial use of wood has outpaced the natural cycle of renewal. Our aim is to offset this by planting trees worldwide as a part of The Trees Project. This project gives the customer the option to decide which on continent they would like to plant new trees during the checkout process. For each and every item sold, wood glasses will donate a portion of the proceeds to a select group of non-profit organizations that conduct tree planting projects across the globe. Though donating money is a great start towards accomplishing our goals, we also strive to educate customers about the organizations we work with in hopes that they we can inspire a desire to become directly involved in a program.
